The Student Instructional Support Systems component offers academic tutoring-mentoring and language and information skills development activities at the Student Support Center located at Library Rooms 206-208. On- line and personal tutoring with technological support will be offered. The tutors will be supervised by their respective academic area coordinators and also by specialists in the areas of technology, education, library and orientation.
- Thin Client-based network: The proposed network will include 3 instructional labs per campus, smart classrooms support and off-campus access to instructional resources. This system will allow students to access any-time – anywhere instructional resources through thin client technology, using Citrix-based system.
- On-line academic support resources: Participating faculty will make available to students class notes, homework, and classroom presentations; as well as links providing supplementary information and web-based tutorial services. These will be developed using Blackboard instructional support materials.
- Peer tutoring: Participating students will be provided with peer tutoring on course content at the labs using all available on-campus instructional computerized resources and web resources.
