Smart Classrooms are computerized centers equipped with on-line access to network and web-based instructional resources designed to enhance course delivery by addressing diverse student learning styles. A total of 30 classrooms (10 per campus) will be established by the end of this proposal.

The decision to create the smart classroom environment and adopt the instructional approach and resources is based in part on the assessment results of student learning styles carried out during the 2001-2002 academic year. Results reflect that the majority of students prefer visual and auditory-based learning materials as a reflection of their visual and auditory learning styles. In sum, this component will support the institution’s change toward creating a teaching-learning environment.
